i just got back from the "class chalet". yes, with inverted commas. mainly due to the fact that hardly anyone attended and many people cancelled their attendance last minute for overseas plans to overlap. nonetheless, we still had a great deal of fun people who turned up (ziling, kian how, kian seng, dawn, shannon, kai shun, melody, shirleen, jeslyn, evadne) including non T8 people (chao, sean & tarun). unfortunately not everyone could stay over. to summarise it all, i'd say that i wouldn't book the same chalet again. it's the epitome of boredom when there's no one around.
first day: checked in at 3pm, only three people were there (shannon, melody & me). rain was coming down in torrents, especially the part where the slope was. it was an ankle-deep, fast flowing RIVER. the moment i got out of the car, my shoes had been soaked inside out. we spent the afternoon watching lame-ass tv shows and playing uno, until melody had to leave to meet her mum and to return after dinner. after sitting around for a bit, shannon decided to follow me to the airport to get sean. we had dinner there too. returned to the chalet at 9pm, melody came around 10pm with shirleen (who stayed for like half an hour). they both decided it was not a good idea to stay over for the first night and went home, leaving the two of us stranded there. we watched a bit of movies on the tiny dvd player, took a walk down to changi village to buy a toothbrush and slept at 1am.
second day: got up at 7am to turn off the air-con, then at 9am for breakfast. got two rented bikes to supposedly "explore the place" only to find out it was pretty boring. the rain came down yet again and we returned the bikes at 1.15pm. next was the bus down to tampines to get some lunch (changi village was getting REALLY boring), met chao and back to the chalet. so there we were, three of us stoning, with a laptop without internet access, reading yellow pages until evadne & jeslyn arrived in a cab with the two KS's. everyone left to visit the beach while i stayed with sean and tarun to wait for the bbq food to arrive. eventually it did (after everyone came back) and we started the fire with a can of bodyspray and a lighter. the food tasted a bit funny, but was edible. tons of leftovers for the food, we stuffed it all into a styrofoam box. tarun attempted to chop it (the box) with a chopper while others used it as a knife-throwing target. by 10pm, everyone had arrived and the bbq went on as usual, we cleared up and played more drinking (water) games. chao and i went to changi hotel around 1am, tried to pose as chinamen so we could sneak around (which we successfully did) and gained access to the 6th floor without an access card. it was pretty funny. the rest tried to visit old changi hospital, but no one went in. we went out for TWO suppers and slept at 5.25 am, the last line i remembered was something about cookie monster and marlboro, as well as ziling's feigned innocence. lol.
today: got up at 7.30am, since checkout was supposedly 9.30am. dawn came over early (pun NOT intended) and we hung out at the chalet for a while. when no one came to 'check out', i called the office and they said out checkout time was 9.20am TOMMORROW. but since no one was left, we just went home and i went back later in a car to get my stuff back and to do an early checkout.
so here i am, head spinning, having slept for 4 hours today. i hope i'll be fine by tomorrow otherwise i shall be quite pissed at everything. i feel like sleeping now (although it's only 8pm) but i shall try going to bed by 9pm. i need to recover as soon as possible!
