right after the exam, i headed straight home after stopping by toa payoh to purchase some patch kits for my deflated bike tires and went home to fix, or rather, PIMP jiang's bike. it was in the sorriest state i've ever seen. the gears were scratched, the chains and cables were rusted beyond recognition and both tires had been drifted till flat. so basically, i spent the next four hours dismantling the entire bike down to the skeleton and replaced most of the parts. some screws and nuts were so darn tight that i actually teared trying to lean my entire body weight on an allen key. after ruining two allen keys on one particular nut that refused to budge, everything was fine. gave it new tires, tubes, brakes, gear shift cables, chain and gear system, as well as to do a thorough clean up by HAND. i don't get to do things like that on school days so it was pretty fun. the end product was then finished with the addition of some sponsor stickers and it looked like this:

since i was already swimming in grease and sweat when i was done, i thought that i'd might as well drop by darren's shop to buy a new helmet. sponsored by my mum, i rode in the rain to toa payoh on my own bike (which i just repaired) and got a white one for $120. it's extremely light and of course looks damn cool.

by then, it was around 5pm and there was nothing much to do so i set-up the wii-fit game that just arrived and fiddled around for a while.

that was about the whole of 13 november. there was nothing much else, other than shannon coming over at 10pm just to realise that we ran out of drinks so we just sat in the room and talk rubbish until 12am where he left.
today, i made an even greater achievement: i re-strung my guitar in one hour. with it being my second time, i was like why not try it myself since i have so much time after the exams, so i just went ahead and attempted it (i had nothing to lose anyway since my previous strings were stuck to the guitar for about 6 months and had disgusting rust on it). after one hour of trial and error, i got it. one hour is the most pathetic of times for other guitarists but hey, considering i'm new to floating bridges, it's quite an achievement.

finally: another product to rant about! it's the BOSS ME-50 this time, which is multi-effects for the guitar. it consists of delay, 22 overdrive/distortion channels, 6 expressions, modulations and a wah pedal. after watching videos on youtube, i was suitably impressed. this is next on the buying list!

okay so my life after exams is quite deprived, as you can see. it's all bike and guitar. but well, i didn't get to do much of it during school. at least, not in a way that i felt more carefree. so if you don't like what i'm talking about, too bad for you cos all i plan to do are the things i didn't get to in school! =D
