move something!

okay it looks like i don't have to attend the full dance course to learn something, just the open classes will do. it's not easy and the learning curve is still super steep. however, i can feel the gap beginning to close and steps are slightly easier to catch.

i find the footwork of LA hip hop extremely complex at this point in time. looks simple, but when it comes to actual coordination it's hard. apparently, i haven't been exercising for a long time, which explains why after the warm up i'm the only person with sweat droplets on the floor while others' stay dry.

a simple 1-hour open class for me now goes like this: warm up, i sweat like hell, the first batch of steps are quite easy to understand, and just when i almost got it, the next batch of steps are thrown to me. so for every new batch of moves, my focus gets more and more strained until i can't catch the last batch of moves at all. so when it comes to group practice i feel super lost, trying to copy the moves of the guy/girl in front of me. by the end of the lesson i'd have got the moves, but no time to practice. it reminds me of one day's worth of JC orientation mass dance moves shoved into a duration of half an hour, then times two.

at some point in time i reach this stage where i'm super shacked and my mind blanks out so i kinda lose my focus and forget the next move transition. anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

i missed about 60% of the moves during first lesson, and 30% during second. slow progress but at least i know i'll reach nirvana eventually. hahaha!
