ahhh the FIVE key LETTERS everyone should be doing. S, T, U, D and Y. seems apparently true, for everywhere i go i see people doing that. i'd guess around 60% of the people sitting down anywhere are doing this wonderful miraculous task. a task that'll probably save your ass from utter destruction in the form of education. places like coffee bean and macs are stuffed full of people doing absolutely nothing but mugging, and you don't get to see their faces either ; for their faces are always down. staring at the book/worksheet/notes/whatever they might be studying. amazing eh? i didn't know that so many people actually bother to go to such extents at making their ass suffer by sitting down for 6 hours without moving. and they do it all for the sake of studying. interesting theories, and since i haven't found a proper explanation NOT to go through the same process in making my ass suffer as well, i guess i'll just have to 'follow the crowd'.
i sped to serangoon gardens on this borrowed peugeot mountain bike courtesy of jiang this afternoon to well, apparently, mug my ass off. literally. got there in about 10 min, which ain't a bad job. i saved about $2.70 in total just by not taking public transport. as expected, coffee bean at this period wasn't good at business if there were no muggers there. cliff and i managed to find a seat for two. how nice. amazingly, too. it was around 1pm, and if by 2 we hadn't reached there i can guarantee that you'll have to sit in the blazing hot weather. outside. where you'll look in enviously at the nicely air-conditioned cafe and the half-full cups of ice-blended chocolate. we got ourselves to work on physics and left at around 5pm with dinesh who joined us later.
well apparently we were waiting for the bus at the private houses just behind the entire garden area, and the two of them challenged me to keep up with bus 317 as it drove through the winding roads with Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' blasting through my headphones. i accepted this half-insane task and just as the bus pulled up, i loaded up and waited for the tremendous machine with a V12 engine producing 150bhp at probably 7000rpm to roar past before i sped off behind and tried to keep up. amazingly i could stay with it at my 2-7 gear ratios. dinesh sat at the back seat to help me record a video of this stupidly amazing feat. haha. the journey had variations of speeds between 30km/h to around 50km/h. the bike had incredible acceleration as it used some sort of trigger shift that allowed me to shift gears like drag racing. lol. can't wait to get the video from him. and lucky the bus driver didn't notice me for God knows what he'll do if he sees some idiot chasing him on a bicycle in his side mirror. and i was so fortunate for his brakes weren't that good or i'd have slammed into the rear if he suddenly came to a halt. finally i ran out of power (i only had a bit of lunch left) and the machine took another turn while i disappeared toward serangoon ave 1. eye-opening experience today, so maybe it ain't that hard for a peugeot bike to keep up with a bus eh? haha. it's not the brand my friends....and it's not mine.
