i finally got a new set of Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky Custom gauge guitar strings onto my Ibanez. Man, they rock! unfortunately my Gibson Les Paul strings had their time up, so i guess it was sad to part with them. rusty and rough, they still managed to perform so well. they still sounded nice regardless of the state they were in. way to go!
i finally learned the guitar solo of 'Californication' by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. kinda slow, but considering i'm not really a guitar solo person (i mainly do heavy palm-muting and hard power chords), it's quite an achievement. took me half an hour to get it right. but nonetheless, it's quite an easy solo for those solo-ists, nothing much but bends and vibratos, but when it comes to pull offs, hammer ons, trills and harmonics i guess it'll just take a little more effort on my part. still, i'm so happy with my guitar. been performing well since day one.
in a few hours time all my friends will start packing in, but only 4 are coming for the first day. i'll have a concert/performance on the second day which is tomorrow, and we'll be rocking off the afternoon/evening! (night not allowed, the cops will come. :)) i compiled a list of songs for the concert, probably gonna leave out some. and people will HAVE to sing along! now that's studio audience.
1.Are We the Waiting/St.Jimmy - Green Day
2.All The Small Things - Blink-182
3.American Idiot - Green Day
4.Holiday - Green Day
5.Wake Me Up When September Ends - Green Day
6.Whatsername - Green Day
7.Letterbomb (my favourite!) - Green Day
8.Dammit/Adam's Song - Blink-182
9.Dance, Dance - Fall Out Boy
*and any other songs that they may request
